I've heard that this guy works at a hardware store. I'm thinking it would be fun to do a podcast with him on this. He can show me these instructions and tell me about how his power bill is so low.

I called the guy that wrote the letter. He now wishes to retract his letter.

I'm about ready to go back to the damn oil lamp with all this fuss about which lightbulb I should use.  And hey the oil lamp makes heat too.

And I could press oil seeds and not worry about what power plant is making murcury and all that jazz if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself. Especially in the world we live in.

But.... I will say that I really like LEDs even though they don't put out heat and they are kind of a shitty light spectrum like you've talked about. They last practically forever in my personal experience and hardly use any power compared to cfls and incandescents.
