Today is National Kitten Day, so if you have a Russian Blue Kitten like I do...well...I feel sooooooooo bad for you! What an interesting breed of cat; that is all I have to say. Its 100% a love/hate relationship, that is for sure. But Happy Kitten Day anyway Misty!

Hey, no problem.

I had to bribe her with a small bowl of milk to get her to stay still for her photo to be taken, but it came out pretty good.

We love her, but the Russian Blue breed is a very intense cat. HYPER!! But for the Homesteader or Farm looking for a natural mouser, this is the breed to get. Ours is just a house cat, but she had (4) mouse kills...which I suppose does not say much about our house. (LOL)

Darth Vader (the vet told us he was all or part russian blue) died four years ago at the age of 25. I still miss him. He knew when to crawl into my lap to cuddle. He would ride herd on the kittens when they were outside to make sure they didn't get close to the road. And yes, he was an excellent mouser. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of him as a kitten, so you'll have to refer to Travis's picture above (but without the shoes).

We find this kind of rampant individuality very disturbing. But not this tiny ad:
