Hi there!! New to the forum and homesteading and this is my first time raising chickens. What do you guys think... hen or rooster. 2 months old

3 whole dollars aye? 😂 thanks. I think it might be... tail feathers are getting long and comb has three rows and is getting bigger than the others... either rooster or long tailed hen with a bad attitude ..

Yup, I was trying to indicate my difinitiveness with my dollar amount :)   I've found that the prettier chicks with more colors usually end up being the roosters.

It's the same in Thailand.  So I've been told.

Another couple months and it'll be pretty obvious between the crowing and other behaviors, not to mention plumage.  Any that turn out to be a rooster in my flock wind up pining for the fjiords by about 5 months old.  The beauty of the plumage don't enter into it.

And now for something completely different.

I'm leaning towards rooster. Because of:

stocky legs
droopy tail feathers
longish hackles

I agree.  He also just carries himself like a rooster.

He's quite beautiful by the way.
