For the last three years I've been collecting leaves from all over. I guess I use about 200 or so large lawn bags full each year. In order to reduce time to final use, I've been looking at ways to shred them in larger quantities. I've tried electric leaf vacuum and electric mower. While either will work for smaller quantities, they are both impractical for larger quantities. I've seen a number of electric shredders commercially available. All of the affordable ones have this far had some pretty negative points to consider like only being able to feed a handful or so at a time, crappy build, blown motors or housings, etc. Is my hope for an affordable leaf shredder able to handle larger feeds like trying to find a Bigfoot riding a unicorn?

I have this one:  Toro leaf vacuum

It works great for me.  I rake the leaves into piles and suck them up from there.  I can fill 20 or 30 bags with shredded material in an hour or so.  That would be at least 80 bags of leaves un-shredded.
