Gardens in my mind never need water
Castles in the air never have a wet basement
Well made buildings are fractal -- equally intelligent design at every level of detail.
Bright sparks remind others that they too can dance
What I am looking for is looking for me too!

For anyone else, what on earth is that? I have no guess :)
Ah ha! Looked at it again as it posted, I DO know what it is! So anyone else, what is it?
And me being me, I want one.

That is brilliant, but I can't verify it, because I really don't know, and now that you said that I really really don't know, smiles. Technically what you suggest fits better than a tool vice, because there is no adjusting for different width tools.Mike Jay wrote:Is Brian's thing something to hold together standing seam metal roofing (or the like) while it's crimped/fastened/soldered further down the roof?

Glenn Herbert wrote:That is a saw tooth setter, for bending the teeth on a saw blade to make the kerf wider and the saw cut easier.
It is a different adjusting mechanism than the two I have, probably a good bit older; the wedge shaped part slides up and down, and the top adjustable part moves and locks to exactly fit the thickness of the saw blade. The farther up the wedge moves, the longer the teeth it can handle. (The actual tooth bender is hidden inside the shell, and is pushed against the flat part of the wedge when the handle is squeezed. The blade sits at the wedge angle to the tool, and the tooth is bent plumb.)

This is awkward. I've grown a second evil head. I'm going to need a machete and a tiny ad ...
