Context: Burra is over the other side of the room with her computer and mentions something which catches my attention - I might want to read or reply to it. So I go to permies.com and click forums, and now I have the forum page, with a nice list of buttons down the side for different major topics. I ask "what forum is that post you were on about just now in ?" but it's kinda problematic to navigate to it.
Let's suppose it was about pigs. I click on "critters" and now I'm looking for "pigs" but what I see, immediately, is pictures and links to the best post of the year, month, ever etc. and the list of recent topics in the middle (and maybe the
thread I want will be in that list, or it may not) The list of sub forums in growies is all the way over on the right, the other side of the screen from where I was just focusing. If you switched the left and right panes over, the sub-forums show up on the left alongside where I just clicked, recent topics still in the middle and the "best of" stuff on the right. You could have a pop-out list of buttons which matched the style of the main list, for the sub forums but although that would be cute it would be more work and likely not add much functionality, so maybe just switching those panes is
enough.
