Here on Permies a bumpersticker is the little blue icon people choose under their names which are pretty great but not funny....out on the road there are some bumper stickers that, while we can't put them under our names here, are pretty funny and worth sharing.  Please share good one's you've run across.

Can anyone tell what kind of car this is?  I'm thinking it might belong to Gir bot.  (after all, Gir is wise!)

I think the funniest bumper stickers are the people that festoon their cars with bumper stickers themselves. On one hand they tell everyone to be tolerant, and then with bumper stickers try to tell everyone how to think.

I just laugh at them as my car has none.

I am not so silly as to think a plastic saying festooned to some car is going to meaningfully change a persons opinion, and even if it did, I am not sure I would want a person so easily influenced, mind changed to my way of thinking anyway.

I would display a permies bumper sticker! Maybe we could run a competition to design one with 50 % of the sales going to tbe winning designer. Or something.  Not very good at stuff like this.

I'll see if I can come up with some.
I don't put stickers on my cars. Perhaps on my tractor.

"Permies culture--no hair required"
"Roadkill is just pizza for composters."
"Microbes, bacteria and fungi
Nature's misunderstood shock troops"
"Keep digging--there's good soil down there somewhere."
"Guerrilla gardening can be a neighbor's nightmare."
"Spiders are the shock troops of permaculture"

Just take any gardening or permaculture idea and put a twist on it. Take old sayings (like Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without) and make them into short sayings. "If you can't grow it, eat it, or wear it, then plant in it or compost it."

I had another one, but it was severely questionable. :)

I like the idea, so here's some thoughts:

"Permies: Full of Culture, hanging out with the Fungi"

"In Permaculture, not all volunteers are human."

"My other vehicle is legs and feet."

"I'd rather be lying on comfry under my apple tree watching the chickens frolick."

"Been there, grown that."

I once parked behind a massive SUV that had the bumper coated with various environmental slogans. Save the whales and  the forest, no to the pipeline etc.

The story of my life:

And one that I needed, I wrote a ruder version on poster board and put it on the back of the van. It had clutch trouble, I wasn't good at clutches yet, and I was in Seattle, with all those hills... and people kept getting too close!!

While they don't currently have bumper stickers, here's a site with lots of gear related to Permies.com.  I bought a t-shirt from them about two years ago and love it.  https://permies.com/t/48562/permaculture-projects/Permaculture-messages-art-tees-totes (it's the first link on the top post of the thread)

I love reading other people's cars. My current fav is, "Montana is full. . . I hear South Dakota is nice."
I have one that simply states, "OMG! WTF?" So many times is this exclaimed while I'm driving!!!

I *really* want a bumper sticker for my bicycle that says, "My other vehicle is a back-hoe loader."  Maybe I could make one that would fit on my pannier?

You can go to Staples and buy Do It Yourself Bumper Sticker kits that you just print off your own computer. I am not sure how long they last, but you could just print out a few more when they get yucky.

@ Travis Johnson and Pearl Sutton - OK, challenge accepted. The issue isn't getting the "sticker", it's the "lack of bumper" on my bicycle. I think I've got an idea how I can do this, and hubby bought some special reflective tape I can outline the sign in so it doubles as "yes, I'm really here, so give me space" notification to the drivers who insist on speeding in our 60 km/hr zone!

I did NOT cry! It was this tiny ad that cried. The tiny ad is a crier, not me.
