Successful
water run today, filled up Judy (our firetruck) with about 550 gallons of water and watered all the primary
gardening plots twice. Visiting the creek is very relaxing, the water flow makes a steady burbling, rushing white noise.
While watering everything I noticed one of the grafts I had done is showing signs of growth. Very happy to see it living.
Also, enjoy a picture of a napping cat during the heat of the day.
I would like to visit the creek again after today's work on the door. I started to put on the tongue and groove boards onto the door frame and found the diagonal support was a little out of alignment with the rest of the frame. It caused a half inch gap on one edge between the frame and boards. So I had to unscrew a bunch of stuff to realign it.
Then I noticed the frame was a quarter inch out of square. So I had to unscrew all the supports on one upright and push it into place. I got lucky I only had to trim one board.
I'm not sure if I wasnt careful
enough when I assembled the frame or if while screwing in the supports the frame was twisted out of square and out of being flat. Using dimensional lumber instead of premium planed
wood brings lots of inaccuracies I wasnt expecting. It's good now and I have some boards ready to go for tomorrow.
Very few clouds in the sky today. But there was on that looked like a superman emblem.
