I'm running a sort of special on Warré/People's hives right now. I found a real good deal on some lumber, so I thought I would use this as an opportunity to get hives into the hands of folks who can't or won't spend $250 or more on a hive. so $100 it is. scroll to the bottom of this page for a few more details and to contact me. questions here are fine, too.

well shoot. I can't tell what's wrong. here's the pertinent information from the website:

I found a real good deal on some 2"x10" cedar, so I'm building hives out of it. it's really closer to 1.75" thick, which is still pretty thick. these hives will be a bit heavier than usual, but it's cedar, so it still won't be too bad. the extra thickness should insulate better and help the bees out over the winter, and it ought to add some longevity to the hives as well. these thick boards are well-suited to rabbet joints, so that's how I'm building them: rabbet joints, Titebond III glue, and 3" screws. anyhow, $100 for a complete hive with four boxes, top bars, bottom board, top cloth and quilt, and a roof. if you want something other than the standard hive, contact me for pricing on anything else using this wood, or if you want to try to talk me into a further discount on a big order (try! I dare you! it might work!). one person said that e-mails weren't getting through, so give a call if I don't reply: 360-225-9348.

I used up all my lumber, so the special is on hold for now. I should be able to get more of the same stuff periodically, though.

the $100 special is over for the time being, but I'm still selling a basic Warré hive for $120.
