I'm definitely planning to make elderberry tincture this year, from the flowers. It grows in my aunt's forest garden and I want to cut most of it after flowering, because it's overgrown and I need large branches for the new fence I'm making.

I also have some raw propolis (the small dry lumps), and I'm thinking to mix it with elderberry flowers in the tincture.

Is it a good idea, or should I rather make two separate tinctures?

And do you have any other interesting recipes?

I am not a specialist at all in tinctures.  My preparations are general syrups and similar.  I also don't know enough about alcohol's impact on honey, etc. to weigh in.  Hopefully a herbalist with expertise in this area in the forum will chime in!
