I took my kids to Whistler B.C. in the summer when the skiing is closed down. Young people were engaged in scree running. The rubble that accumulates beneath cliff faces is called scree. Runners and cyclists crash down the mountain with incredible speed. Brakes are useless and likely to cause a crash.
About 25% of them were bandaged to some degree and we saw a dozen plaster casts. One girl had casts on all four limbs and facial bruising and cuts.
Some of the kids in the audience were so banged up that I'm pretty sure they were the stars of this show a week earlier. There were neck braces, traction devices and all manner of bindings.
IDIOTS.
I used to live near a place called chimney rock, because in times past, the people used the rocks to build chimneys because they fractured pretty much square. There were MTB trails, and for the life of me, I couldn't see the fun in riding in a place like that...
But then again, now I have to bunny hop chickens... :
