DIY Rennet ?

Has anyone harvested rennet from lambs or calves before. It’s calving season at my lace and we loose a calf some times so I figured I’d grab the stomachs and dry them. I read that rennet is a byproduct of veal production but I’m not gonna kill any calves just for that purpose. I’ll just salvage what I can.

Thanks 🙃

I have not done it myself. There is  good article on this in one of the Foxfire books.....I think 10, but I have not verified the book number.
