Just making a thread so folks can talk about the monthly-ish.

Here is my first draft of what I am about to send out:

building a better world book free for 24 hours

Hi!  It's me!  Paul the Magnificent!  It has been nearly two months since I last wrote to you, and there is so much to tell you about!

First, if you are reading this, it means that you are NOT signed up for the dailyish email.   Our pride and joy!  Each email is hand made, and we have about six contributors at any time.

And the biggest thing is that we now have 41 excellent goodies that you can have just for signing up.  Pick one to start with and then you get a new one every few days.  Here's the list:

  https://permies.com/goodies

In a few days, I will give everybody on the dailyish email list a copy of my book "Building a Better World in Your Backyard - instead of being angry at bad guys".   I sincerly believe that if 100 million people read this book that it will solve nearly all global problems.   All you gotta do is be signed up for the dailyish email and watch for the announcement.

I am in the early planning stages for a new kickstarter and could use your feedback.   We have a design for a TRULY passive greenhouse in Montana.  Featuring elements from Mike Ohler's designs, plus some improvements that Mike and I talked about, plus one idea shamelessly stolen from wofati stuff, plus one extra idea.  All this to support a year round greywater system that continues to function through the winter with zero human interaction.  NOW is the time to share your thoughts and ideas!

  https://permies.com/t/140968

Speaking of Mike Oehler, we dropped the price of his 5-in-1 (two books and three movies) to $35 and we've been selling oodles of them.  OODLES!  So this is:

The $50 and Up Underground House Book
The Earth Sheltered Solar Greenhouse Book
Three Full Movies, six hours total
     - Construction
     - Design
     - Shleter

The true genius of Mike's work is in the second movie "Design".  That is where he shows a collection of different roof designs that are not in his book.  Understand this one thing, and everything else becomes very simple.

This is the time of year for weekend projects.  And a rocket oven is the gateway to a rocket mass heater.  In an effort for more people to gain this experience, the full rocket ovens movie is now available to rent for $5.

I think the most magnificent permaculture event ever was "Permaculture Voices 1".  Not only did I have a really great time, but I got to hang out with my heroes.   And their presentations were magnificent.  Willie Smits, Geoff Lawton,  Allan Savory, Joel Salatin, Dr. Elaine Ingham, Toby Hemenway, Jack Spirko, Greg Judy, Mark Shepard, Larry Santoyo, Curtis Stone ...  52 brilliant speakers and 70 glorious, well polished presentations.  If you watch one video each week, it will take you more than a year to get through them all.

I wish for a million people to see all of this.   And I convinced Diego to let me drop the price on this in a feeble attempt to get a little closer to that.  All of it for $35.

If you were there, or if you have seen these videos, please comment on the thread:

Hundreds of millions of people are about to go out and buy "weed and feed" and other forms of toxic gick to grow something that is strictly ornamental:  a lawn devoid of edibles, flowers or polyculture.

My lawn care article has been powerfully effective in persuading folks to eliminate toxic gick for their lawn.

Please, I beg you.  Pass this article on to as many people as you can think of.

Post to your blog, your twitter, your favorite forums or mailing lists .... email it do a dozen friends.  Post it to your facebook account.  Five minutes of effort on your part, could persuade a dozen people to stop using toxic gick for life.  That's several sacks and bottles of toxins compounded by years.

Lots and lots of my stuff

Just finished the book I was lucky enough to win also. Really great guide especially for folks new to soil rejuvenation. I thought the “climate crisis in your backyard” section was a good way to break issues down across the country. The “Plants for backyard carbon farmers” was a nice touch as well. Kind of a starter blueprint that would have anyone interested up and running in short order.

THAT 'S the good stuff!

Mission accomplished!   Toxins averted!

We find this kind of rampant individuality very disturbing. But not this tiny ad:
