Being the first perennial legume member of our food forest, this is a nice little milestone worth celebrating! I've never grown pigeon peas before, so if any of you permie veterans have any "sage" advice, please come forth with it. That's anything - growing it, using it, eating the beans, or it's ecological value. This, to me, seems like a personal passage from being just an organic gardener to becoming a food forest gardener.Certifiable food forest gardener, free gardening advice offered and accepted. "A thatched hut is home for a country man; Horse or carriage seldom pass my gate: Forests so still all the birds come to roost, Broad valley streams always full of fish. I pick wild fruit in hand with my child, Till the hillside fields with my wife. And in my house what do I have? Only a bed piled high with books." - Cold Mountain
