Sharpening and repairing tools, heavy maintenance of equipment. Back when I had livestock, it took a good chunk of time feeding and watering.

I'm trying to be a little more proactive this winter. I find that I am most productive when I have a list of bite-size projects; it's probably related to how cold and dark affect my mood and motivation.
My priorities:
- get my garage cleaned up and put some on-demand heat in there (probably propane) and better lighting; this is the precursor to being able to tackle other projects
- Various lumberjack projects; I have danger trees that have to come down before they wreck cars/buildings
removing a ton of tree saplings and some 8inch or so oaks that some idiot planted right next to the barn,
remove a huge sycamore that has grown up though a building with an asbestos roof (tree is 3ft or so thick)
make a chicken run and coop inside barn
Get up on barn roof and fix some loose pannels
fix roof of conecting building (whole thing lifts up in wind)
repair some bricks that have come loose on barn
lay new strawberry plastic
plant windbreak
move asparagus to permanent beds
