I am installing a wood stove next month. The ceiling is single sloped and the house does not have an attic. I'm planning on getting a ceiling support box to put between the ceiling joists, and then insulating the ceiling with rigid foam and fiberglass rolls. Hopefully this isn't too silly of a question, but will the ceiling support box stay completely cool? Can the insulation touch the box? I've done research on the parts I need, but I can't find any definitive statements that say the ceiling support will stay cool and the insulation can touch the outside of the box.

Thanks

Hi Cherie; Welcome to Permies!
Most of the installations that I have seen, on a single pitch roof.
Just use a standard roof jack and metalbestos insulated pipe going thru the jack and outdoors.
I have seen photo's of the style you are referring to and if it were me , I would put insulation up very close to the box.

Have you considered a rocket mass heater as your wood burner?
We have a forum all about them here at Permies!
