Hi, I've been a lurker on this forum for some time, but have finally decided to make an account. I currently live in an apartment and am saving up money to one day buy some land (real estate here is absurd) and start a permaculture homestead. That is still unfortunately some time away, but I'm excited to be here now and learn as much as I can.

Welcome to permies!

Good for you to want to learn all you can before you actually have the land to experiment on. And here is the best place to learn good things homesteading and permaculture.

Welcome to Permies! I lived in Cali a few lifetimes ago. I kinda miss it. I hope you learn whatever best helps you achieve your goals.

Liv, thank you for the welcome! I'm excited for the day I get even a small plot to garden in, right now I have a couple herbs growing on my balcony, but unfortunately have a north facing apartment so the sun is minimal, nothing else can really produce. Ever since learning about permaculture I have been amazed at how much information there is out there to learn. Permies are a generous bunch with information!

Paul, thank you! I hope so too! I ended up in Chicago for college and found out that I do not do well in harsh winters, so for now I'll be staying in CA (cost of living be damned).

The airline is called "Virgin"? Don't you want a plane to go all the way? This tiny ad will go all the way:
