I have a chicken tractor full of these along with a few Wyandotte males. I thought I would save some males from McMurray hatchery. Anyone have any experience with any taste difference between a 15 week old rooster or hen? They are ready for the slaughter and I am curious. Caponizing seems like way too much work. No doubt they will be good in the stock pot but any other thoughts would be great.
Also thought I would mention that skunks are such a pain in the ass!

I've never noticed any difference.

They taste like chicken.

Taste the same.

Noisy as (#*W%^*$& so don't put your tractor outside your bedroom window (learned the hard way).

Much harder to pluck than a cornish cross.

Take more feed to get to weight as a C-X

Because of all of those, we went back to the mutant C-X's--even though the frypan specials were basically free they were not the cheapest answer.

After the secondary sex characteristics form and testosterone rises the breast meat gets stringier. Its still good if you chop it finer. I think the older birds have more flavor , just chewier.
