Hi!
Oh my gosh. I'm so excited, I may burst.
I'm Jennie, I'm 40. I've lived a very sub/urban life, especially the past 15 years in Chicago, proper. I have two kids, 6 and 7.
Their dad and I signed on the property a week ago, and we're headed there to make camp this weekend. We love to camp. But this time, it's to make a camp in order to have a place to stay while we build a house.
Sure, there's a house. Sure, there's a barn. But they are not inhabitable in the least. NO one has lived there for a very long time. Nature has reclaimed most fields with tall brush, and the wild wooded areas just became more wild and wooded.
38 acres. All mine.

I have permaculture fantasies! I'm here to learn ALL THE THINGS.

Hoo buddy.

Welcome, Jennie!

I know you're going to love your land. You're going to walk over every inch of it and feel how good it is to call it yours. I'm so very happy for you and your family!

When hubbie was in the military, we lived in Tennessee, on the Kentucky border. God was surely showing off when He created that area. And the people are friendly, too. What a gem of a location you're in!

Yes, please post pictures of your work. At the very least, start a thread here, post photos of your work, and look back on it from time to time as a journal. And let us share your joys, your successes, your ideas, etc.

The learning curve is HUGE. But don't let "failures" get you down. Failures are not failures if you learn how to do it better the next time. Please share your "failures" too, as it helps us all learn. We're all learning from each other here, and we all support each other.

Again, a Hearty Welcome!!
