Elon Musk Twitted this morning that if the World Food Programme can prove to him that $6billion dollars can solve world hunger he will sell that amount of stock and invest that money doing it.

TBH I don’t think they (WFP) could prove it or even propose something realistic BUT I have a hunch the permies community could actually do it jaja.

I don’t even know if that amount of money invested in a permaculture way could fulfill “solving world hunger” but I’m quite sure it would be the only approach that could have a chance.

The question would be, how would you invest $6B in a permaculture way having “solving world hunger” as the main objective?

Elon always makes me laugh. He just can't help stirring things up. I'm not sure he really cares about money, since he had like a hundred million from selling PayPal and just pushed it into new, interesting stuff.

There is a lot of food in the world; probably enough for everyone. The problem is distribution. In many places, the food shortage is a result of war and conflict, dirty shenanigans and kleptocracy.

So IMO the most critical exports from this site, initially at least, would be "Be Nice" and "Leave room for other people's opinions." My 2c.

sounds good, douglas…i wonder how one could invest a truly absurd amount of money in those ideas in any meaningful way, if mr. musk could be convinced.
