Hi,

I need to get ahold of some Japanese Knotweed root. It is hard to find in a herbal store. The two that I have found were a bit expensive. I know that it is a pesky weed, but I need to use it for medicinal purpose. If anyone has any in their yard, please let me know or how to get ahold of some cheaply. Thank you so much for your time and assistance.

Sincerely,

Lara

Where are you located? I'm sure there's someone in your area who would be happy to get rid of a bit of knotweed roots. Feels a bit like the kind of thing where they should pay you to take it. Weird to sell such things expensively...

It depends where you live.

For instance in the UK it is against the law to grow it or propagate it.  It is a civil liability to allow it to grow and spread to your neighbour's property.  It is a criminal liability if you are causing or allowing it to grow in the wild and you are obligated to mention the plant growing on your land when you are selling your home.

It might be wise to know the laws of your country.  Isn't there another medicinal plant that could replace such an invasive species?  It is not only a pesky weed but an aggressive plant that destroys flora and fauna, endangering ecosystems, especially along river banks.

They worship nothing. They say it's because nothing lasts forever. Like this tiny ad:
