Hi All;
We have had a rock garden in front of our deck for many years.
Each spring Liz would move all the rocks aside, pull any weeds trying to grow thru.
Spread a new layer of
compost dirt and replace the rocks.
She then planted flowers , succulent's, strawberry's or what ever she fancied that year!
It was always stunning when she finished.
For the last 2 season's she has not been able to get that job accomplished.
By this spring we had a bumper crop of Quack grass!!!
Deep roots!
She was not looking forward to excavating it all out
We decided that the best way to deal with this problem was with weed block fabric and sand!
With the help of our visiting Permies staff member we got all the rocks moved (Thank you Gerry) and all the quack grass
roots dug out and fed to the pigs!
After checking around we settled on Ecogardener premium 5 oz weed barrier from Amazon.

We ended up liking it so much I bought a second roll to cover the garden!
After cutting and laying the weed block , I covered the entire patch with commercial white sand
Placing our rocks back and filling in the gaps with more white sand.
Liz then created her little rock garden paradise!
I think it looks great already and will only improve as her flowers bloom!
