hugelkultur with vertical stumps and wood chips

Just got done redoing 4 garden beds.

Since my test beds this year indicated vertical stumps and dug in wood chips improved the vegetable harvest the most,
I'm changing most of my beds over to this.

Nice - I saw a vertical bed at a farm tour a while back. His was above ground though. He used pallets and wired them together in a triangle shape. Then stood a log in the middle and stuffed it full of other limbs. Put dirt in it as he went along. Had not planted in it yet. Your bed looks like it will work better to hold moisture.
