I just read a really interesting Article in Acres USA.

The author, Mark Shepard, basically describes how it would be possible to transform the current industrial food system based on annual plants into one based on perennial plants.

perennials a core theme and a worthy employment for any in need if society can find the long term vision. funny detail in the article

There are very few records of beech being planted in former agricultural land, so stealing beechnuts from the cute starving chipmunks looks like our only option to harvest them as staple foods. Where are you beechnut farmers and beechnut breeders?
