Heyo! I'm Katie, and I've been madly in love with farming since I was 19 and first set foot on the little 10-acre CSA in Crescent, IA where my organic education began. After two years on that farm, I set off on a WWOOFing mini-adventure, spending a month apiece at a permie homestead in FL and a goat ranch in NM. This past year, I moved from my hometown in Nebraska to Washington state to apprentice at a biodynamic farm - now I'm midway through a permaculture design course, and already anxious to find a new, green pasture on which to learn and practice what I preach in these slow, winter months.

I'm currently living in Seattle, WA and though I'd really like to intern full-time on another farm, that course of action has proven to be financially impossible (seriously - to those of you pursuing room/board internships, I hope you have *substantial* savings prior to beginning!) and I need to maintain the urban job and lease I've picked up since moving here. On the other hand, I'd love to find a rural, suburban or urban permaculture site nearby at which to volunteer my time and evergy on a regular basis. There are some worthwhile resources for community projects (i.e., the Beacon Hill food forest) in Seattle, but I also wanted to reach out through this forum to individuals who may be outside of those networks. I'm a hard-working gal with a passion for plants, so if I can offer help (manual labor, planning/design, etc.) to anyone embarking on the path to regenerative landscapes, feel free to drop a line! I'm just beginning on my permaculture path, but I'm excited to get my feet wet.

I'm also a budding graphic designer, so if anyone on this site is looking for a logo or branding, I'd be happy to offer a mock-up once you've decided on your name, message and mission. :]

Love and light,
Katie

Hey Katie -
I currently live on a ranch outside of Goldendale, WA 3 weeks/month and run a landscaping design/maintenance biz in Seattle 1 week/month. If you're interested in checking out the ranch at some point for an extended weekend to see our garden/farm/ranch scene, let me know. It's a pretty spectacular place and is about 4 hours from Seattle.
