Rate of seed per acre is 10-15 lbs. My small 100x100 test plot is an experiment. It's lower gluten attractive since my wife has a gluten allergy. Yes my eventual plan is to harvest and grind the grain. Several years ago I harvested some roadside Russian rye, unknown variety, and used it as a landscape plant along the driveway. The stalks grow 6-8 ft tall and are visually appealing and maintenance free. Harvesting the seed and extending the row each year. I will probaby try some of the secale cereale for additional landscaping but not in a test plot yet.
Our inability to change everything should not stop us from changing what we can.
