Yesterday I was paying bills and have a bill from a seldom used credit card.  I noticed the bill said I had 59,000 bonus points….which obviously I normally ignore.   I got curious and made the phone call….the cash value was $590.00.   Then, I remembered my wife had a similar card.  She had $250.00.   Those points had to have been there from  about 10 years ago when I used the cards when I traveled. Now I am checking every old card I have .

Just dug up an old gift card for a dinner theatre place. I thought it would have expired long ago. But John F inspired me to call them. It's still good! $200 bucks for a date night! Woo!

That is like striking gold.  I would spend half on something frivolous and put half into saving.

To bad, my cards have an expiration date on the bonus points so I use them to either pay my bill or spend them on something I am going to buy anyway, nothing frivolous.

Hi Douglas,

Nothing as exciting, but I did cough up another $80.00 that has some strings attached….but it is still useful.
