My 2 year old daughter has MRSA. She has already had 4 surgeries to drain them. I am currently making a Usnea infused oil or a salve. After a lot of research thereโ€™s not a lot of herbs you can use for staph or on young kids. Is there anything else I can add to my usnea salve to help her? Her little digestive system is so messed up from load of antibiotics from the docs and want to find a more holistic nature way to help her and hopefully avoid her next 5th surgery.

There are reputable studies that have shown garlic is effective in treating MRSA

Raw honey for MRSA:

https://www.buzzaboutbees.net/manuka-honey-mrsa.html

Iโ€™ve used raw honey for many flesh wounds, including some bad, stitch worthy dog bites recently, and can vouch for the nearly miraculous healing power. No signs of infection, rapid healing, and lessened scarring. Iโ€™ve never used Manuka, but other dark honeys such as buckwheat, or desert wildflower. Also, eat LOTS of raw garlic.. as much as you can stand. Best wishes for you and yours!

I would look into Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal remedies. There are several good herbs that have a strong effect on Staph. and other bacteria. They are usually not taken by themselves because TCM uses a whole system approach, not just a Western diagnosis. If you can find a TCM herbalist in your area that would be the best since that person would need to look at your daughter to get a better picture of everything that's going on.

I personally second the garlic approach with one small addition: slice the garlic and lightly steam it for 30 seconds or so to remove the strong "bite" that raw garlic has. Don't overcook because many of the active ingredients are heat sensitive. This way you can take a lot more garlic in (I take a whole bulb of garlic this way) without upsetting the stomach.

I had recurrent impetigo several years ago and I treated it with a few drops of geranium oil mixed into coconut oil before bed every night. Finally quashed it. The fucidin ointment stopped working, antibiotics did nothing to keep it from coming back. It was brutal.

My skin wasn't deeply broken though, this was purely topical, although it was on my face between my nose and mouth so a very sensitive area. I can't recommend the geranium/coconut oil inside deep wounds but topically, it works amazing. I also recommend not using multiple things simultaneously as you don't know how they will interact and affect the skin barrier's capacity to heal. I made my impetigo worse using too many things at once and irritating the skin. Choose one topical thing and one internal thing and stick to that. I messed my face up so badly using tea tree and lavender and all these random things people suggested and it only healed once I stuck to the geranium and coconut oil.
