Isn't it crazy how few people know their neighbors these days? Our friends over at Good.is are trying to do something about that.

The goal of Neighborday is to make human contact with your neighbors—who most of us don’t actually know—and it can be simple: a backyard barbecue, coffee at your favorite local cafe, a beer and taco tasting, whatever you think is a good way to bring people together.

The folks over at Good.Is have all sorts of tools for you to get started: for the shy among us they have notes that you can print out and slide under your neighbors door and for the big thinkers, there is info to help you plan a large gathering or make a documentary. Head over here for the NeighborDay ToolKit. If you want to see if something is going on in your neck of the woods, check this out.

It's still pretty new round here, and it's picking up speed!
We had afternoon tea on my friend's front lawn, and at least 20 people came.
It was cool

It would be pretty neat if Permies were to do Permaculture themed Neighbor Day. Something like getting together with the neighbours and building a hugelkultur raised garden bed, build a rocket mass heater, tour the food forest or the permaculture garden, or simply share some good food.

What would be even cooler if people were to post pictures of their Neighbor Day on this thread.
