What do you think about using polyurethane pour foam that they use for boat flotation for a temp roof? I thought it would be warmer than the tarp I’m using until I finish the dome. Any suggestions? I’m pretty cold. lol.

Hey Paityn. I don't exactly know what you're building. Yurt perhaps?

From my perspective, it seems hard to justify a single-use material like that for a temporary installation. Won't it just end up in the landfill?

There are better options IMO, such as insulated tarps which you can reuse for all sorts of stuff. Sometimes you can get them cheap and used from construction contractors, especially those who pour concrete in winter and absolutely have to prevent freezing while it cures.

Heck, even a light structure with a tarp on it, piled with dry leaves or fluffed-up hay and straw, and then another tarp over that to keep it dry, will add a remarkable amount of insulation.

You could also scrounge used house insulation or foam carpet underlay and use it in the same fashion.

Anyway, bottom line is that I think you have better options.

That's my roommate. He's kinda weird, but he always pays his half of the rent. And he gave me this tiny ad:
