Those kittens are adorable! Are they going to new homes or staying at wheaton labs to live a life of permaculture rodent control and general human enjoyment?

Well, we think 2 to 3 kittens will go up to the Abbey with Jennifer on the lab, and the rest will stay here at base camp. Jennifer loves the black one, "Like Bear" and is also fond of the long-haired orange one, "Ernie." I'm not sure which third one she might have her eye on.

We are treating them as barn cats (albeit far more socialized than most barn cats!), so we anticipate that we might lose some to predators or other things. So for now, we are not going to find new homes beyond divvying up between our properties.

Worf (the adult, long-haired black male cat in lots of our pics and videos recently) seems to not like the new family, so he has made himself scarce here of late. Ferd is a grey short-haired male and has been around a bit more than Worf, playing wonderfully with the kittens even, though Ferd seems to come and go a bit erratically himself. Ferd seems to get along fine with Gert, though Worf does not seem to get along with either Gert or Ferd. I think Worf is a confirmed bachelor and wants to live at a one-cat homestead.

So we were at 9 cats - 3 adults, 6 kittens. Though if we shift to 3 kittens and just 1 or 2 adult cats here at base camp, that will be a bit more manageable, I think.

More cat pictures (of course!)! The kittens are around 4 months old.

The other kittens went to the Abbey, so just Apollo and Gremlin are at base camp. Ferd is a solid, sturdy, large cat and the likely dad of the kittens. These three are good buddies.
