I just came across a new idea of an embroidery Journal, which I thought was really interesting - you create a tiny embroidery to represent each day of the year and stitch it into a design so that at the end of the year you have a memory tapestry of the year.
Here are a few examples from dfw crafts:
Lorna Driscoll's complete calendar from 2023
Barbara Ann's WIP calendar for 2023
You can chose an image for the day, or a representation of books you have read. This one represents the temperature of each day by the colour of the flowers:

Steph Arnold has written a book to help guide people through the process of creating their sewing calendar:
365 day of Stitches which apparently has loads of ideas of motifs and examples for inspiration.
I wonder whether something could be done in the lines of a phenology diary?
Hmmm... I wonder if I could be diligent enough to do it...
Whoah!! Check out this permie deal!! https://permies.com/w/homesteading-bundle?f=232 "The only thing...more expensive than education is ignorance."~Ben Franklin. "We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light." ~ Plato
Wow, really neat to see the directions people took this! A different take on the "tapestry of life" metaphor.

I think (because I know myself) I would need to do a week or two's worth at a time. I already keep a planner/journal which includes highlights from each day. Probably I would be more able to commit to sewing 7 or 14 tiny memories once or twice a month versus keeping up with a daily practice.
This reminds me of a future-me project. I keep travel logs of wherever we stay in our home-on-wheels and plan to embroider our travels, a different color for each year, into a large-ish kind of map. I'd like this to end up as a quilt.... I think these embroidery diaries could end up as a quilt (several quilts?) too.
