Insect Hotels - Bug Mansions - Bee Condos

So I was fooling around on Pinterest and posting about it here on the site. http://www.permies.com/t/25819/tnk/Playing-Pinterest#204560 I have been noticing people doing these really cool projects called Insect Hotels . I had not seen it discussed here so was wondering if anyone had any of their own images to share about this. It is summer so bugs are in full swing...

Provide a home to pollinators and pest controllers. Tidy gardens, lawns and lack of dead wood, mean less and less habitat for wild bees, spiders and ladybugs.

I seem to recall a thread questioning their efficacy but can't seem to track it down.
