My name is Jacob and I live in northeast Missouri on a 20 acre homestead I bought 3 years ago. I am looking for a partner to enjoy a simple life in the country, living close to the earth. Someone to put down deep roots with and to co-create our paradise. A woman who is feminine but can get her hands dirty. Someone to build a family with, a future, a dream. I do not want a mirror or a shadow but her own person. I'd prefer someone my age or younger who is fit and intelligent. A person to learn with and learn from. An individual who values service work and helping neighbors.
I've been living off-grid for almost 20 years on various homesteads. I heat with wood I cut and split by hand. I drink rainwater and use an outhouse. For income I grow organic veggie and flower seeds, do construction projects, and sell firewood. I grow a portion of my own food, including dry beans and small grains. I eat as much from the farm as possible and value local, whole foods. I have chickens for eggs and get cheese from a local dairy. Eat mostly a vegetarian diet. No social media and generally low screen use. I love riding my bike, long walks, camping/hiking trips, and having fires. I volunteer once a month at the food pantry and give blood regularly. I have lived in various regions of the US and love my farm. That said I'm not closed to relocating for the right person/situation. I am masculine in many respects but also am aware we live in a culture of patriarchy. I have done a lot of emotional work and value open, honest communication. I don't have a spiritual path but have explored many different faiths/philosophies. I'm agnostic but believe the universe is a great marvel and that we, everything, are all connected. The earth is our mother and I believe in honoring that and respecting her.
Over the years I have gained many skills. I have a lot of conventional and natural building experience. From design to excavation to finish work, I've built everything from a garden shed to a small house. I have limited involvement with western medicine and believe in healthy lifestyle as prevention. When sick I use plant medicines, fasting and massage to heal. In a different life I would have been a healer. I can be old fashioned in certain respects. I open doors for ladies, treat elders with respect and talk to children as equals. I say please and thank you and chew with my mouth closed. I enjoy differences in opinions and choices and think we all have to walk our own path in life.
My place is called Hickory Hill and is located a few miles from Rutledge. Across the road is Red Earth Farms (homesteading community), a mile from Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage, and a few from Sandhill Farm (community in transition). County is only around 5,000 people and almost 75% are old order mennonites. My place is over 60 miles from the interstate and a city over 100,000 is over 2 hours by vehicle. Very clear night's skies and plenty of coyotes yelping. My farm has 2 quarter acre fields where I grow seeds, a few garden plots, 5 acres of mature hardwoods, and the rest is open. I've built a garden shed, cabin, chicken coop, pole shed, outhouse and my house. Lots of my structures have attached greenhouses. Soon I would like to plant a forest garden with medicinal herbs, an orchard, and get a dog. I'd also like to preserve more food whether by canning or fermentation.
If my posts resonates feel free to send me a message and tell me about yourself. I wish y'all luck in your search for love and joy in the interim.

Hi Jacob! I just sent you a Purple Moosage (or whatever they’re called lol-I’ve never sent one before and I’ve been on this forum since 2019!). The PM wouldn’t let me send pics; I’ve included one here so that you can point a face with the words. Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Jacob, I resonate with a lot of what you've written here, both in values, lifestyle and the work you've done on yourself. I would be interested in connecting, if you are, although it does seem you are very well established on your homestead and I'm in Canada. I couldn't see your full name on your post otherwise I would've sent you Purple Moosage.
