I'm standing in the thrift store and had an idea pop up while I was in the back corner staring at all of the random high chairs wheelchairs strollers Etc.

I am staring at those hinged pet fences. And it occurred to me that those might work really well for a composting bin. Especially for winter storage of fall leaves. Any idea why this would not work?
I can easily see how to make a two or three spots composting station.
I'm looking at a zip tied bundle of six panels for $15. They are some sort of plastic, probably HDPE but I can't tell for certain.

I already have a pet fence that I have lining the driver's side of my driveway to help protect the edges of the car door from the rock wall. At the time I had not realized what it was I thought it might have been some kind of toddler fencing.

Unfortunately my experience with using plastic outside (when not meant for exterior use) is that UV breaks it down within a year and then the plastic breaks in annoying ways. So its a money waster and a time waster. I would spend your $15 on some more permanent metal wire fencing to make a cylindrical compost bin, or make a small pile without a barrier for free. One way you could potentially use the fence you already have out of the sun is some sort of drying rack tray.

I would want to research what its recommendations are. I was given, and then bought more of, Dog Exercise Pens made out of metal. They do gradually rust in outdoor use, but they've been very useful for chicken runs and with baby bumpers added, duckling runs. The wire isn't close enough spaced to keep rabbits out of the garden without hardware cloth added, and plastic might well be chewable for the average rabbit if they want what's on the other side.

On top of spaghetti all covered in cheese, there was this tiny ad:
