where to find 20 ounce widemouth Ball canning/freezing jars?

I have one and would love to buy a dozen or two more.
They are perfectly smooth inside and tapered just enough for freezing.

I have widemouth pints and they are easy to find along with regular and widemouth quarts but I haven't had any luck finding this 20 ounce jar.

Judith, I think I remember that Azure came out with a pint & half (24 oz) jar, both regular and wide mouth.

I went to Balls website and it appears they do not make them.

16 oz, 32 oz or 64 oz:

It may be that they don't make them anymore but it is a Ball brand jar.

Here's another photo where the other side shows through the glass.

I just really like the size and shape.

I'll check out amazon, azure and rural king.

I have adopted a few over the years and I guard them with my life!

They're nice for making very small bits of fermented food.

I can't help you find them (Canada, eh!), but I can acknowledge your heartfelt desire for them!

I love those jars, the last ones I was able to find they called them juice jars. I used them for pickled asparagus. I haven't seen then offered by Ball for a few years. Amazon has a 24 oz version by "Leavier".

That's less than $3 Canadian per jar, and the exchange would likely cover the shipping if they'd ship to the USA.
If you buy 2 flats, the shipping's free.

Joking aside - I am not sure they're as evenly tapered from the bottom to the top as the old ones I've got. If Judith is trying to freeze things in them, that could be an issue. I'd look carefully at the image before ordering them for that purpose.

For my uses, I just really like containers without awkward shoulders that are harder to get the contents out of. For that purpose, these would work well. However, I also want them to fit in my canner with enough head room to boiling water bath them. I can do 500 ml without trouble. I would want to check the height measurement against my equipment before investing, as my electric stove won't run my big pressure canner.

I'm finding loads of straight-sided 24oz ones, but they're not the brands I'm used to, so I can't vouch for how they'll perform, their weight, whether they'll work properly with standard wide mouth lids & rings... John bought some off brand ones about 3yrs ago, because the store shelves were bare of them, and they were thin, & broke in the water to sterilize them, so I've become pretty persnickety about brands, since then.

Good point. The ones that Tim Siemens linked to are a popular, long-standing brand here in Canada. However, we've seen a number of popular, long-standing brands, being bought out and dumbed down over the last 10-20 years. However they're being offered through Wa---rt, so one could check what sort of guarantee comes with them.

Stores where the 'heavy hitters' shop might include hardware stores & farm supply stores, too. I'm not sure whether Lehman's still carries them, because they were bought out, and I haven't had need to check them out, in a while. Around here, quite a few of the Mennonite stores carry jars, as well.
