I live where there is heavy snow load, and I'm sure gutters would rip off if I installed them, but I want rain catchment from the roof.  It's a two story house.  Has anyone ever installed the short span gutters suspended and swing away for winter? I'm thinking, the 10' pieces, hung on chains from the rafters, held out of the way with hook and eye.  Thoughts?  I'm going to try it on the woodshed before the house

I hope you will hear from folks with some experience.
