i have made and sold walking sticks from unusual looking free fall timbers and been paid hansomley for these

at a local market last weekend i met the strangest artitst iv'e ever come across, the medium used for his art is male bovine excreteia (yes he is quite literaly a bull shit artitst) anyway he made crocodiles, cane toads, and fruit bowls platters. the way he did this is mixes the shit to a consistancy like clay, moulds his project then kiln dries, when dry it is then covered with some sort of poly resin, they do look realy good, but i'm not sure i want a fruit bowl made of bull shit, on the other hand they do make for a conversation piece, at arond $150 starting price, he is actualy proud to be called a bullshit artist the cane toads are very realistic looking as the completed colors of the turds is similar to a live toad

When I eventually get my own farm up and running, promoting the place is high on the list of priorities.  Since I will be focusing on the Pick Your Own market, bringing people to the farm is the objective.  They have to know about it, they have to find it, they have to see it.

Holding an event such as an Arts and Crafts Fair would fit in.  These woods are crawling with folks who paint and sculpt, work with glass or beads, knit, potters, woodworkers and maybe an occasional creator of the really unique wares not unlike the fellow of whom you speak.

There are plenty of these people who would be interested in setting up a booth, table, or tent to offer their wares.  Some do this for a living, some do it part time.  While it is true that there are craft shows all over the place nearly every weekend, there are not that many around here very often.

If the vendors are able to provide their own tables/awnings/tents, all I need to provide is the space.  Portajohns, electricity and potable water are also needed, but these are small issues.  Promotion is the name of the game here.  Radio, newspaper, signs, get the word out weeks in advance.

Its a lot of leg work putting it all together, but not impossible by any measure.

youv'e certainly got the idea, the guy i met lives on his bush block and is realy only interestedin his art, he does all the above except painting, he started his unusual works as a joke but found the tourists paid astronmical amounts for them, you could say bull shit is his bread and butter, and as said they realy do look quite good

Roses are red, violets are blue. Some poems rhyme and some don't. And some poems are a tiny ad.
