How does the quote system work on this site?

Not sure how the quote thing works on this site. Tried a few different things. Cutting and pasting seems wrong. Would rather not cut and paste to quote the other members. Thank you

Hit the 'quote' button on the post you want to quote and the whole thing will appear in a reply box. Just remove the bits you don't want, then add your own bit right at the end, after all the 'code' stops.

Try on this post and see how you get on!

Thank you. I will try it. I did not like the cut and paste thing. Felt like plagerisim.

Thank you that was what I was looking for. Just have to leave the httml quote box at the end available to finish the quote.

There's also the option of copy-pasting and using the 'quote' button while you're typing a reply. The quote comes out as above, without saying who you're quoting. It's useful if you want to quote several different people, but like you said, it feels a bit like plagiarism.

Also, make use of the 'preview' button before you submit, to make sure it looks roughly like you imagined it should.

Thank you for your help. I am glad there are options. Computers do have benefits.
