Hey friends,
Long Arm Farm is a small ultra diverse farm in southwest Wisconsin. I have 14 acres in Perennial fruit, nuts, mushrooms, herbs, bees, pastured hogs, goats (cheese!), high tunnel, annual veg., and various harebrained schemes...
I'm really interested in biodynamics and mixing agricultural practices with a hearty dose of woo woo - its not all just toil around here. I'm pretty well read in permaculture though i think its safe to say I like to bend the hype and rules a little.
In my past life I was artist, I try to weave manic creativity into growing and designing stuff around here. I have a small house, a small cabin, caves that can be turned into ghoulish apartments, a big shop, or woods to hide out in. There will be a lot of food this year.
And, i'm putting it out into the universe that i am looking for the worlds best intern(s) for the growing season (potentially beyond?). By best i mean positive, fun, easygoing, creative (time and space for art making), hard working, sane, optimistic, non junky/alcoholic, good communicator and good listener. No pay to offer but worlds of knowledge, gas, food and lodging. I'm seeking people interested in learning along with me. I will be marketing in milwaukee (possibly madison and chicago) weekly so plenty of city time to be had if you want it. Kids welcome too if they can cut country livin. Punkers, queers and witches welcome, especially punky queer witches.. spread the word!

check me out at longarmfarm.tumblr.com

Thanks!

Hey! My name's Danny, I'm from Chicago. I just followed you on tumblr (upthapermiepunx), your farm looks awesome! I was looking at wwoofing over the summer anyway and you guys aren't too far off so it sounds great but I'm also going to school and working and possibly moving within the year (it's still kind of up in the air) so everything is kind of complicated right now. But I just wanted to say your tumblr is rad and you guys seem like a lot of fun and I'll definitely keep you guys in mind if I end up being free this summer and even if not best of luck with everything. The world needs more farming punks.

Hey their Micaela I just looked at your website and tublr as well and loved them. I love your place and I like where you are trying to go. My wife (Lindsay) and I along with our 2 year old daughter (Laila) are looking for perhaps and internship (or more) and for some reason we feel good energy from you farm. I'm currently a farm hand a small organic farm I definently have some knowledge on organic farming methods. I take care of a large number of horses cows and chickens. Along with some goats pigs donkeys and a peacock! I love nature and everything about it. Taking care of animals and gardens and being around it all is my true passion. I'm a very handy person as well I do maintenance on my farm I can mig weld. I've worked at some pretty respectable places including the largest walgreens distribution center in mount Vernon il. But I never really fit in any of the normal society crap. I'm more of a simple living, live off your own land with good people around kind of guy. My wife too has a love for nature and farming. She grew up on a farm and is actually a champion horse rider. She is a care coordinator for a health care franchise. But like me she has no desire to keep working meaningless job after meaningless job. We care about the earth and our bodies as well and know organic farming and self sustaining is more powerful now a days then ever. My wife and daughter are vegan. I don't really label myself although I do eat all organic. From time to time I do make a trip to the bison farm nearby. We would love a chance to talk about interning their and the openings that are available. I called this morning and left a voicemail. Please feel free to get back to me if there's openings still! Thank you! Namaste
