Hi Everyone i purchased 1 pound of red wigglers about 2 months ago. Everything seemed to be going fine, until recently.

for the past week i've been seeing very small (smaller then a pin head) light brown / orange spiders running around in my worm farm. there also seems to be eggs which look like very small sesame seeds.

There is a video on youtube, that claims bugs and critters are fine.

Please keep in mind my worm farm is indoors and doesn't have any foul smells. i added fine, crushed dry eggs shells a few weeks ago just in case things were a little on the acidic side...?

any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Probably mites. They tend to show up when a bin is extra (not too) wet or too acidic (often from overfeeding).
They are relatively harmless and if you add a bunch of dry bedding, they will dry up and die.
Good luck and have fun.

Thanks Keith i believe you're right, and have started cutting back on the misting.
i first noticed them on a piece of bread. they were all over it and laid their eggs on it too. obviously i threw the slice of bread out.
