Anyone else have any good design tools or instuctional resources they would like to share?

I was just looking for design tools and came across this link for resources on designing your property in Inkscape (free). I have tried to use other tools such as gimp or sketchup but did not find them to be as easy to learn as Inkscape. Disclaimer: Inkscape probably is not for the computer illiterate either. This link does have some very handy basic tutorials though.
