Hi all!! We are in the market for a Battery monitor for our system. We are looking at the Xantrex Tm 500 A and the Bogart Trimetric....We really want a meter than can cut off our system when we get near 50% battery Life...Any suggestions or recommendations are greatly appreciated at this point..Thank you

I would recommend the Bogart Engineering TriMetric. The TM500A is really an old Bogart TM-2 with a Xantrex label on it. Bogart Engineering built them for Xantrex. There has been many improvements in those monitors since then and the latest is the TM-2030. We have a TM-2025 on our system and I wouldn't be without it.

Edit:
I should mention that the TM-2030 is pretty new and it is designed to control Ralph Hiesey's (the founder of Bogart Engineering) new SC-2030 solar charger. Most of the online retailers will carry the TM-2025 and we have the one that comes in a white enclosure like this - is the RV model:

There is no difference in function between the RV model that comes with an enclosure and the TM-2025 that doesn't come with one. Since they are the same price, I think the RV one is the better deal. Remember to order a Deltec 500A shunt for your monitor - the TriMetric does not come with a shunt.
