Grow friut trees & pruning books

Hello all,

I'm thinking of getting fruit trees for my backyard here in Henderson NV. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some good books on growing and pruning for me. I'd to get some info before I dive in!

My favorite books on growing fruit are "The Holistic Orchard" and "The Apple Grower", both are by Michael Phillips and published by Chelsea Green. He's also got an instructional DVD out there, although I haven't seen it yet. There are some free lectures by him on youtube, too. Also, the paper catalog from Raintree Nursery is full of useful information about varieties and pollination charts. Check out their website (raintreenursery.com) to order a free catalog. Good luck!
