HAPPY SUMMERTIME!!! Within a few weeks, the ground work should be complete on approx 10 acres that are being terraced (really wide terraces) with run-off catchment ponds for flood irrigation. We have been raising a variety of fruits, herbs and perennials, collecting seeds and scouting out natives. We need help, in our little slice of paradise to get this area planted while we attempt to keep up with our current "food". Please check out some of my posts to see what we're up to in Southern VA. We don't have much $$, but do offer a comfortable housing, all of your food and an incredible "peace of the past". Please p.m. if you want to discuss this further.
Hope to hear from a few permies - I have my PDC & Advanced Design Practicum, our farm is Certified Organic and I'm working on Cert. biodynamic; most importantly I've been diggin dirt for decades
thanks~
Marianne

Hi Marianne,
Currently I am in Wilmington, NC deciding where I want to go next. I would love to come and visit your place in Va. I took a PDC course last fall and volunteered at some farms in Portugal. Now I am looking for more practical experience and opportunities to visit and/or volunteer on organic farms while searching for affordable land of my own. Do you have space available for a volunteer? Please provide details of your expectations and needs for current projects you are engaged in, and what kinds of accommodations you have available. If there is an application process, please send that also. If at all possible, I'd love to come and visit very soon and learn about how you got started. Thanks, Karen
