Hi all!
I'm sort of a jack of all trades/MacGyver type who enjoys hands-on work in remote places. I have some experience in several areas, including basic construction, electrical, plumbing, metal working, welding, photography, robotics, mechanical skills, website administration, CAD, heavy equipment and a few others.

I am seeking an opportunity where i can put my skills to good use and earn enough to take care of my expenses, which are very minimal (i have very little debt, no bank accounts and and no bills, other than vehicle insurance). I'm not looking for full-time or labor intensive work, such as allot of concrete or roofing, but i would be willing to put in 15-30 hrs./week on average maintaining existing buildings or, perhaps, building new ones if they are simple projects that i can handle. I probably have more experience in operating heavy equipment than anything else, which i've done mostly for the mining, construction and demolition trades. Though there is allot of work locally in my field of expertise for the gas industry, i have decided long ago that i will never work again in any industry that i feel is destructive to the earth or its inhabitants.

Like most here, i am interested in a reasonably sustainable, off-grid lifestyle with healthy food, clean water and lots of trees. My ideal opportunity would be one that is located in a fairly remote, wooded area with a plentiful supply of clean water and, preferably, a stream which i could use to generate electricity and possibly do other work. You might have some simple structure where i could live (cabin, barn, etc.), or i could build my own.

Having re-educated myself over the last dozen years or so, i would say that i am not of the average mindset, but probably not so different than most here. I enjoy talking about alternative lifestyles and social structures as well as a variety of other topics including historically significant events, alternative energy and technology, and much more.

In my very early 50's and currently located in north central PA, i would be willing to travel at least a few hundred miles for the right opportunity.
