Anybody out there raising quail for eggs? I have an empty rabbit cage (see pastured rabbits section, there is a photo) Basically, its 55sq ft with chicken wire buried 6inches down.

There is a covered area, but I am wondering if they need somewhere to roost.

I have never raised poultry before and would like to know if this is for the experienced people

Our quail certainly don't roost - they seem to prefer to just hide in the grass.  I don't think they are just for experienced people, so long as you have somewhere safe to keep them.  55sq ft is quite big - you might spend a while hunting for the eggs as they seem to scatter them at random all over the place.
