I was trying to make
apple cider vinegar. I cut up a bunch of apples, covered them with
water, added a little sugar and some
apple cider vinegar from the store (unpasturized). It was in a 5 gallon
bucket and I intended to cover it with a fine mesh screen but forgot and just left the plastic lid on it. It sat for 1-2 months. When I opened it up there is a gelatinous white coating on the apples on the surface. What looks like yeast is everywhere. I strained out the apples and the liquid is a pale yellow. It smells very tart. I am making it to cut costs since I give my
chickens and goats ACV. Can I give them this stuff ?
