I think around the beginning of january we will announce for a date in
early feb. You will probably be able to join in early feb. If you
skip in early feb, my guess is that your next chance will be late
summer or early fall - because I think most of the people on the list
are waiting to come march through august.

I am wondering if I am remembering this wrong... and if the gapper fee was included, is the Boot waiting list fee considered something apart from the gapper fee?
The point, I just learned of the "no penalties for passing" and probably should go ahead and get my name on that list.

Megan Meigs wrote:Hello. I'm interested in the SKIP event in July. Is that also waitlisted and do I need to get on the bootcamp waitlist with $100 payment for that? If you are still looking for workers for the bootcamp event, I'm open to arriving early to work in exchange for a SKIP ticket. Have lots of free time and a desire for lots of skills! Thank you.

Please reply to this email if you are currently certain that you will:
- definitely arrive on March 7th around 3 or 4 in the afternoon
(or close to that for people that would be flying in)
- commit to a minimum of one week
(And, we hope, it is something that might last many months or even years)

Nicole Alderman wrote:Yes, the gapper fee covers the bootcamp entrance! So, by having the gapper fee waived, you're able to get on the bootcamp waiting list. You posted in the perfect place, too, to notify Paul you want to get on it!

We now have 48 people waiting on the permaculture bootcamp mailing list.
We have some new boots arriving june 6th. One week before our PDC
begins. Most of the current bootcamp will be attending the PDC, which
lasts two weeks. And 100% of the bootcamp will either be attending
the PTJ (permaculture technology jamboree) or teaching in it, or
helping with the event. When the PTJ ends, the SKIP event begins.
Because the current structure of the SKIP event does not allow as many
attendees as the PDC pr PTJ, the bootcamp will kinda get back to
normal.
Mix into all of that: we have had several people buy tickets to our
summer events and express that they would like to remain after the
summer events as boots.
More mix: some people came to the bootcamp just to do the work trade
for the summer events, so they will be creating open spots in the
bootcamp.
This is a long winded way of saying that we are thinking we will
accept some new boots that would arrive on july 18th - about halfway
through the SKIP event. The official invite will go out in about a
month.
The last few times we have sent something out to the waiting list, we
had fewer people come than we asked for. In other words, of all the
people that said "I want to come!" 100% came - eliminating the "wait"
from "the waiting list." So if you are ready when the next invite
goes out, there is an extremely good chance you will be able to come.
