I don't need help with Apple. I'm going with M111. It's everything else I'm unsure of. I need pear, cherry and plum rootstock.

http://www.raintreenursery.com/Rootstocks/

That is the website I'm looking at buying them from. So what should I get??

How much space do you have to plant trees? I have ordered rootstock from Copenhaven farms in the past with good results. They effectively have a minimum order of 100 trees, but their prices are 1/3 that of raintree.

My recommendations would be 50 each of the following in 1/4" sizes
Plum=Myrobalan
Cherry=Mahaleb
Pear=OHF97

That would run about $170 plus shipping for 150 trees. If that's too much, you could scale back to just 25 each of the cherry and plum (3/8" since) which would bring the total to $130 plus shipping for 100 trees. My experience is that the prunus species have a higher survival rate, so I wouldn't not scale back on the pears.

I'm planting 35 acres so LOTS AND LOTS of room. I think 100 would be a bit much though. You see I'm doing it a bit at a time, completely alone, while working full time and being a mother to toddlers and having animals and My God what is wrong with me? I'm doing the earth works as I plant so I think planting 100 wouldn't be too bad to do but doing the earthworks for 100 would be impossible. Anyway, so I was looking at just getting maybe 5-10 of each just to see if I could actually grow my own rootstock and graft.

Thank you for the recommendations!!!
